The "Internal error – Could not find item" error you're experiencing in Sharepoint is connected to improper user permissions. To fix this problem, do the following steps:

1. First find out which user is having trouble logging in. If you already know this information, you can skip to step 3. Go to the location "C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedWeb Server Extensions15LOGS" and open one log file corresponding with the error time.

2. Search the log file for "login failed for user". Note the account name immediately following that expression.

3. Open your "Microsoft SQL Studio Management Database", click "Security", click "Logins" and find the user account from step 2. Click that user name.

4. Click "Properties" and in the following window, select "User Mapping" find the "MySites" database and check the box next to it, then select "SPDataAccess" in the pane below and check the box next to it as well.

Click OK, close the Server Management Studio and you will no longer have this error.
