The error 438 appears some times when I try to run a macro on the excel. The error appears only in one of the document I am working on. I am not doubting on the excel itself because I am not seeing any problem in running macros on other projects Xcel documents. This document which is giving error has about 7 years of heritage and has seen many authors in its life time. I can also blindly proceed with my work ignoring macro but i am interested in solving this so that I can add some value to the document. What si the main cause of this specific error? Is there any guide on this error? I appreciate your kind answers.

To fix the 438 error in Microsoft Excel, do the following steps.

Step 1: Close all Microsoft office applications.

Step 2: Go to Start -> Computer -> Open C drive.

Step 3: Go to

1. C:usersusernameAppDataLocalTempExcel8.0MSForms.exd

2. C:usersusernameAppDataLocalTempVBEMSForms.exd

Note: user name is your system login name. In some excel version you will find both MSForms.exd and MSForms.exd in one location only that is C:usersusernameAppDataLocalTempExcel8.0

Step 4: Delete these 2 files and it will work.

Step 5: Restart the computer and restart your Office apps It will work now.
