I have a VLC software and I love using it to play videos because it gives me options for screen ratios, cropping and gamma changes.
But whenever I play some of divx movies using the said player there are lines, which are green in color, running through the picture. The color of the video itself changes a bit. Yes, it plays the movie but with all of these lines.
This is not an issue with my other players but the thing is I only want to use VLC that’s why I really need some help. Just so you know, I have already downloaded the divx player and codec but of no luck- same issue persists.
Divx movies problems on VLC Media Player
If the VLC player can be able to play the video but then it has lines running through it, then it is most probably that there are some codecs that are essential for playing the movies which are in the divx format that are missing in the VLC player. I will therefore suggest that you do the following:
With the VLC player opened, go to the tools menu and then check for updates
You should have internet connection because the media player will go online to look for the latest version of that application that may be having the missing codecs.
In case the updated version is found, download it and install it.
Try playing the divx videos again and see what happens.
