Hi experts,

I have a system with Windows 7 and I recently uninstalled a HP printer but I keep on getting the following message. - The pop-up says: “Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product AiOSoftware. The Windows Installer cannot continue”.

I want to get rid of this popup because it is so annoying. Do I need some sort of registry cleaner? Help would be appreciated.

Hello Jessicafstout,

This is a common issue faced by most of the users who install HP printer from original installer of AIOSoftware. Usually the 1706 error represent the issue with installation files that are installed on the hard drive and hence this error points to hard drive controller. This issue can be solved by following below steps:

  1. Switch off the printer.
  2. Uninstall the HP printer software.
  3. Uninstall the printer drivers also.
  4. Download the driver package from official HP website.
  5. Install the downloaded driver package.
  6. Restart the system.
  7. Switch on the printers only after the installation is successfully completed and restarted.
