Crashing of updater of blackberry desktop software

Hello guys,

I am running OS windows 7 64 bit on my system.  Recently, I decided to update the blackberry desktop software, but unluckily, while doing so, the updater crashed. I tried updating it again and again, but every time it ended up in the following error message and the installer stopped:

A newer version of this application is already installed on this computer. If you wish to install this version, please uninstall the newer version first. Click OK to exit the wizard.

According to this message, I already have a newer version of this application installed on my system.  I have searched and searched, but found nothing on my computer. I have now deleted all the blackberry folders and also all the blackberry registry keys. I also used revo uninstaller and also the multiple registry cleaners, but despite all these efforts, the same problem persisted.

Presently, I am using blackberry desktop manager 5.xx, as I don’t have any other option. I can't go above  this version. This is really annoying. I have posted this problem on many forums, but no help was found.

I have exchanged my bold 9900 several times in the last few months, and the one which I am using now doesn’t have its backspace key in working order. This is really disturbing.

Please help me to get out of this problem as soon as possible. I'll be really grateful.

Anxiously waiting for your views.

Regards.

Crashing of updater of blackberry desktop software

Hi Lilliesheaa,

I can imagine your frustration. I had a similar experience I merely wanted to throw my laptop and mobile through the window. Why not try to delete old software and reinstall new version while restarting after each step?  What worked for me is the NET software. First I tried the BBM DS but it kept popping the same error. Then I heard I'd better find and install the NET software and luckily it  just  worked. I found it on the Microsoft website, installed it and then uninstalled the BB program and then I ran the installation from the beginning while the phone was off during that time. Eurika!
