Hi guys, while I was at home preparing for a trip, I found out that its nice to change the contents of my iPod player.

So, I used iTunes Store to get some contents.

During the process of connecting to the server, I meet an error, that it cannot connect to the server or a network error occurred, please see the error message below for reference.

iTunes

We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection timed out.

Make sure your network settings are correct and your network

connection is active, then try again.

I checked my internet connection, its up and running, I also checked my firewall, there is no restriction pertaining to iTunes.

I restarted my computer and again tried the same process, but same error appeared.

Please help me with my trouble connecting to iTunes Store.

Thanks guys.

Jamy,

Unfortunately there's a problem with ITunes right now and you'll have to wait it out. These outages are common on iTunes due to over 100+ million active people downloading. There is no fix because this is all at Apple's end.

The best thing to do in the mean time is to browse your music directory and manage the music from there, for the time being.

Recommended

Always backup your music and iPod (once iTunes is available)

Enjoy.

Hi there,

Try one of these option which will help you;

You just close your iTunes and off your phone. Then restart it again, check for any updates. In addition, If you're having extra battery on your phone please turn it off. Sync your phone also and please don't forget to check your internet connection.

Another option is, Go to control panel and select the internet options. Click the tab of Connection and select Lan settings, from there unmark the use a proxy server. I hope your problem is solve.

I guess you are using an older version of iTunes that’s why it caused a connection error when the client is connecting to the server. Make sure you are using the latest version of iTunes when downloading contents to your device. To download the latest version, visit iTunes 11.1 for Windows.

Since you are using Microsoft Windows XP, make sure you are using the 32-bit edition because this version doesn’t work on Windows XP 64-bit. iTunes 11.1 works on Windows XP Service Pack 2 and higher, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 as well as Mac OS X. Install the program afterwards and then check if it can now connect to the store.

If the program is still having a problem connecting to the store and still throwing the same connection timed out error, this time the problem is really with your connection. If you are doing it during peak hours, try it again during off-peak hours to have a better connection. This problem is very common during peak hours because the network is experiencing heavy traffic.
