The possible problem here is the computer hardware installed inside. RAM, VGA and other computer components. One of them might be loose and causes not to reboot and display black screen during the first try.

When you restarts your computer again, computer then recognized the devices inside and this gives you the full access of the computer.

You need to identify the problem which is at this point, not possible to pin point the issue because we have no ways to see it first hand.

If you are technical enough and have the guts to take a good look inside, then be ready of screw driver and other tools needed to open the machine. Try to observe any loose connector that might trigger the problem. Once see any defects, try to wiggle it and tighten up the connection. This should let you reboot computer during the first try.

Hello Rowena,

That could be a hardware defect, and it is most common with the HP series of computers as well as many other computers that use the Nvidia GPU drivers.

To fix that issue, you will need to remove the entire motherboard from the case, and then you will remove the fan as well as the metal bar that covers the GPU attached to the fan after that. You will also need to remove the thermal paste that is on the chip.

Once you have done the above, you will need to get a blower and then carefully blow on the GPU  to warm it, but do it with care not to burn the chip. After that add thermal paste to the chip and then get a penny and put in on top of the chip. You will need to press it down over the board. After that assemble everything and then try booting the computer.

Regards,

Carl
