Compass 2 Installation Problem Windows 7

Hello,

I got an app for Windows 7, and after the installation process I could see that the app, ThinApp was successfully installed.

At present when I try to login by providing the username and password so that I can connect to a DB server I get this error message:

"Error Message-76, File Not Found:…DLLInstallationUtil.dll"

As soon as I encountered this message, I got a copy of the "InstallationUtil.dll" from another machine where it was working and pasted in the VMwareThinApp essential location, but in spite of this I have the same problem.

Any advice will be appreciated.

I will give you possible solutions for your problem

 1. Please update your antivirus and have a full system scan ( You must have a Good and trusted antivirus I recommend using kaspersky and Norton)

2. Have a registry cleaner and fixer ( I will give you a link on the program that I am using http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download) Please download and install the program and Run it. Click on the registry and scan for issues and it will fix it.

3. Try reinstalling the program you are using

4. If you can find an InstallationUtil.dll on other program dll’s or if you another computer that has the same program try to copy it and paste it to these 2 following locations  C:Program Files (x86)VMwareVMware ThinAppCapturesCompass 2.0%ProgramFilesDir%HoneywellCompass20DLL & C:Program Files (x86)VMwareVMware ThinAppCapturesCompass 2.0%SystemSystem%

If you have a problem with the program you installed, check the system requirements and verify that your computer meets those requirements. If there is no problem or this is not the problem, try to uninstall and reinstall. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install. Once installed, start Revo then select the affected program among the applications and click “Uninstall.”

Follow the normal uninstall process. When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and click to delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, exit Revo then install the program back. Try also to disable your antivirus temporarily before running the program.

It could be your antivirus interfering with the application. Also, make sure you are using an administrator account so you have full administrative privileges to run the program.
