I am an internet user and I like visiting several sites to learn a few things and am worried that maybe I have a virus in my computer. However Avast can’t find any virus. There is a folder that has my research notes but I cannot open it. Whenever I double click or right click and click open, the error message below appears. How do I solve it?

Error message:

C:Usersumair.ASARLEGAL.000Desktopold desktop stufffiles is not accessible.

Access is denied.

Some time due to antivirus out of date and did not work properly and this cause not to detect virus/malware/adware. And some time this cause to hide original folder and make duplicate of it. Adopt the following method as solution.

  1. Check the folder size(by right click and then properties), if it shows folder size in KB and you sure that this is not my folder size. Then
  2. Open my computer Then tools option(if using win 7 press Alt key to show menu)  then folder option  then click on VIEW  tab and Click on the " find the show hidden files and uncheck "hide protected system files "
  3. A warning message appears click YES and then press ok

Now check your folder and hope this will work.
