Cannot connect to netflix with WII

Every time I attempt to use Netflix on my Nintendo Wii console, a message comes up saying “Cannot connect to Netflix. Please try again Later. If the problem persists, please visit netflix.com/tvhelp on your computer”.

I went to the web site and it tells me to reset my console. It didn’t do a thing to help me with my problem. I tried turning my console off and on and ejecting the disk inside, which didn’t help again.

Any information will be helpful!

When was the last time that you were able to connect to Netflix on you Wii. Did you make any changes with your equipment or possibly did an update on the console? How is your Wii connected to your network, is it wireless or wired?

If you have a computer, try to check if you can connect to Netflix from there, to make sure that Netflix is not down during that specific time. Well, you can try to isolate one thing at a time. Try to check if you can connect to any online game and see if you can stay online long enough. If not, then try to doing a sequenced power cycle with your equipment.

Turn off the modem, router, Wii for a minute and then turning them on, one at a time starting with the modem. Give an interval of about a minute or 2 before turning on the next equipment which would be the router and then last would be your Wii. Once all equipment are turned on, try to check if you can connect online long enough. If you think you're connected online long enough, try and reconnect to netflix again to see if it works.

If console hasn’t been updated, then you might want to do an update. Press the Wii button from the menu, go to settings, press the right arrow until you see System Update and select it.
