Hello Teresa,

I have a solution that should help you if you're on Windows. This requires downloading a small utility named NirCmd.

NirCmd is a small utility which allows to do useful tasks. It is command line based and can do a variety of tasks such as opening a CD-ROM drive etc.

These simple steps should help –

  1. Right-click anywhere on the desktop and choose New > Shortcut. Small utility named NirCmd
  2. Place this text '“C:path-tonircmd.exe” cdrom open E:' in the shortcut location. This wizard helps to create shortcuts
  3. Save the shortcut and name it eject-cd.exe, a shortcut with this name should now be present in the desktop.
  4. Right click on the shortcut, select properties, choose your preferred shortcut key, we chose Ctrl + Alt + WChoose your preferred shortcut key

Hope this helped.
