Hi guys,

I have a problem with my Autodesk Inventor Simulation 2009, while I was using the application and saving my file. Autodesk Inventor Simulation 2009 stopped and displayed an error message, the error message stated that it could not append the file that I am trying to update, I posted below the screen shot of the error.

Autodesk Inventor Simulation 2009

Couldn’t create database… Exception:

Unable to append data to file.

OK

After I got the error message, I restarted my computer in hope its just a glitz, but when I am back to my usual work, after a short while I tried again saving my file, the same error message appeared on my screen. Please help me figure out what went wrong, thanks a lot.

The error is with the application’s database-related function. Somewhat like an internal error within a program. If you have already tried restarting your computer and still nothing happened, run a disk check on your computer to see if there is an error in your system that is preventing the application from working properly. If you have a disk utility application installed in your computer, run it to check your hard drive. Otherwise, just use Windows disk check.

  1. Right click on drive C and then select Properties.
  2. Click Tools tab.
  3. Click Check Now.
  4. Check Automatically fix file system errors and then click Start.

Run the application again after the disk check and see if it still has that error. If it’s just the same as before, uninstall Autodesk Inventor Simulation 2009 and then install it back. This will restore its settings back to default.
