Hello fellow members.  I just received the user s guide 2003 QuickBooks in PDF file format.  I try to open it with Adobe Acrobat XI but I'm having a "file not recognized" error.  Are there any alternatives in opening this file?  Any help would be much appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Hi Dudley Achan,

I think that the problem that you have now is the file itself, not the program that you are using in order to open the file and I assume that the file that you have is a renamed file extension file, it means that the file is not originally in .PDF format, if you want to get an original one, contact your software provider and ask for a new copy of the file that you have. The file looks more like a manual for QuickBooks 2003

Hi Dudley,

If you received the file via Email then there’s a big possibility that the file maybe damaged or the file may have been renamed. If the file is damaged then that’s not going to be a problem since you can ask for that file from Intuit again. In fact you can download most of users guide from Intuits website. Renamed file happen in rare cases but it’s actually the last thing most of us think of so try to check if the file type is adobe. You can do this by:

Right Click the File > Left Click Properties. Check the type of the file. It should say something like “Adobe” or “.pdf”. If the file type says so then you might have a damaged file. Try to rename the file and check if there is a .pdf extension.

If there’s none add a .pdf and then try opening the file again.

Hope this helps!
