Windows XP on MSI MegaBook VR630X-038EU

Hello!

I cannot install Windows XP on a laptop-038EU MSI MegaBook VR630X. I tried several versions of XP but every time during loading files I see a BSOD.

stop: 0x0000007B (0xF78DA524, 0xC00000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

I installed Windows Vista without problems. But I want to change it with XP because some software that I need doesn't work on Vista.

How do I install Windows XP on this machine?

Windows XP on MSI MegaBook VR630X-038EU

Follow the following actions to resolve it.

• First you have to get the BIOS or CMOS setup. There are various ways to enter the BIOS setup.

By pressing
F2
F1
F10
DEL
during the boot. If you are not sure about what key to press, try pressing and holding one or more keys when the computer is booting. If you are successful you will get a screen as follows:

• Then expand the “ Drivers” section
• Then select “SATA Operation”
• Then change this from “RAID Auto/AHCI” to “RAID Auto/ATA”

Hello Sorin,

That is pretty odd. One very simple and quick solution basing on the screenshot you posted above is to go to BIOS and Disable AHCI. You may also try these steps as alternate solutions: What BIOS version is currently installed on that device?

You may need to update it by clicking on this link

You may use MSI HQ Forum USB flasher After doing that, go to Advanced but first, you need to enter BIOS then disable AHCI Mode. Once done performing all those steps, try to install XP again. Just please note that if you are using a USB stick with MSIHQ USB Bootable Tool and BIOS Helper then you would need to format the USB key. Try this site

And once done, run MSIHQ Tool and test the Xp installation I hope this resolves your issue like everyone else.
