Hi,

When I trying to view a DVD, autorun does not start and the DVD will not play. But when I double click to open the DVD all my files are seen intact, but when I click on any of them, I get an error message. Please help?

Windows Media player cannot open the file. The player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.

Windows Media Player is a nice media player with cool GUI and awesome graphical performance. But this is its biggest problem that it doesn’t support many popular media file format.

But there are remedies for this also. The easiest solution is installing codecs for Windows Media Player.

Download K-Lite Codec Pack Basic and install it. It is a package of important codecs that will be used to play many popular file formats. It can work with almost all media players. Just while installing, check the “Windows Media Player” to be associated with.

Also, you can use other media player. The most popular ones are:

·         VLC Media Player: The fastest performance with finest GUI and large number of file supports.

·         KMPlayer: Nice GUI, 3D capability.

·         Media Player Classic: A K-Lite Codec Pack product that covers this media player.

Hope you are enjoying with movies.
