Hello, as you might know, that workstation is different from Server. Let me assist with how Windows 2008 R2 workstation works and installed. And installing the server Operating system on Workstation is a better way to learn about the server operating system.

For the novice, let me explain the difference between servers and workstations. Workstation is a regular desktop that comes in flavors like Windows 7, Vista, and Windows 10. But the server operating system is mainly used for managing clients and used in corporate companies to manage many users/clients.

Server Operating system has wireless option disabled by default, and you can install the feature by going to server manager and selecting Wireless LAN Service. Once installed, reboot the system, and you should be able to see your Wi-Fi getting connected.
