Why is WSUS clients updating from window update?

Why are Microsoft Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) clients receiving automatic update from windows update? We recently notice that WSUS client are receiving auto update from window when they have already been configured with group policy that only Microsoft Windows Server Update Services can find ad install update for the clients? How can this issue be address?

Why is WSUS clients updating from window update?

Here is the answer to your question. On Windows 7 and Windows Vista systems, the Standard User has all the necessary permissions to use the Windows Update App and install updates cooperatively. On Windows XP systems, however, the use of AUOptions=3 will require that the logged on user on the Windows XP system is a local administrator or you will need to enable the policy "Allow non-admins to receive update notifications", so that a non-administrative user on a Windows XP system can receive that "ready for installation" notification.
