When I install Microsoft office 2016, then an error occurs that this installation requires compatible Microsoft Office program can anybody help me to resolve my problem?

This type of faults are due to <Language ID> line is removed from Configuration.xml file.
Check your system file
<Configuration>
<Add SourcePath=”c:\Office365”
OfficeClientEdition=“55”
<Product ID=”O3445ghtl”>
<Language ID=”en” />
</Product>
<Product ID=”Visp>
<Language ID=”en” />
</Product>
</Add>

Add the language ID line in your configuration file or also check the product ID is right or not, after adding the file try again to install Microsoft office then it will successfully Installed on your device without and error.

Why This Installation Requires A Compatible Microsoft Office Program Error Occurs

It seems you are installing a language pack called “Microsoft Office Online Server Language Pack”. Since you are installing updates for your Microsoft Office, it is normal for errors like this to appear and the message is helpful because it teaches you what is wrong about the installation. Like what the error says, the language pack you are installing requires Microsoft Office Online Server.

Microsoft Office Online Server is not part of Microsoft Office suite and needs to be downloaded separately. Downloading this requires a Volume Licensing account. Go to Volume Licensing Service Center and log in to your account. If you don’t have an account and you don’t have access to Volume Licensing Service Center, ask for permissions from someone who does in your organization.

Once you’re logged in, go to Downloads and Keys section. Once you’re there, locate “Office Professional Plus 2016” in your product list and select “Download”. Next, select your download method. Under “Download Method”, selecting “Download Manager” guarantees your download won’t get corrupt. Select your language then click “Continue”.

After this, the list of downloads will appear and you will see “Office Online Server”. Click the download button.

The last step to get the download is to get the product key. Click “Key” and you should see the key for “Office Online Server”.

After installing Office Online Server, download and install Universal CRT (KB2999226) if you haven’t installed it yet. After installing this, install Microsoft Office Online Server Language Pack again. See if this works.
