You are having this error message because you probably have scripting disabled in your Internet explorer browser.

To enable the scripting in your Internet Explorer browser:
* You click on tools on your Internet Explorer window and select 'internet options'
*Click on the 'security' tab, make sure that the  Internet (globe) icon is highlighted. Then click the 'custom level' button below. There will be another window that will pop up, scroll down to 'Scripting' and enable the following;
     – Active scripting
     – Allow paste operations via script
     – Scripting of Java applets are all enabled
Then click the 'Ok' button at the Bottom of the window to save it. Click the 'ok' button to close the Internet Options window and close all open Internet Explorer window that you have. Before you access your Yahoo messenger,make sure that there's no open internet explorer window on your computer and your Yahoo Messenger is off too for the changes to take effect…Once you open your Yahoo messenger, you should be able to send and receive messages now without getting any script error message.

Bear in mind that the problem is not in your Yahoo Messenger but with your Internet Explorer browser.
