Why does Microsoft shelve Metro from Windows 8?

Hi,

Microsoft executives told recently that “Metro” was only a code name, reasons why they have replaced the way consumers should call it. However, some tech analysts and bloggers refused to believe this excuse. Earlier than that, there were a lot of criticisms to the use of the term “Metro” for this Windows 8 UI.

Formally, some days ago, they announced that “Metro” will be replaced by “Modern. ”

Hello Salie,

Microsoft had to replace what it had formerly referred to as its Metro user interface to windows 8 after much deliberation. Some of the speculations that have been put forward as to why Microsoft had to make this changes include:

  •  Claims from Microsoft has say that Metro had only been used as a code name its developers all along, and that it in no way had the intention to use the term with the general public.
  •  Other claims reveal that  Redmond was forced to do the changes of the name when Microsoft failed to come to terms with biggest German retailer, the Metro Group, which is the owner of the Metro trademark.

Regards,

Carl
