Why are they using after effects for the toy story movie?

Good day!

After effects projects toy story is a good one. But there are other software that they can use. Why is that they choose the after effects? How does it really differ from other software? Thank you in advance.

Are you referring to Adobe After Effects. If so it is a digital motion graphics and compromising software published by Adobe Systems. There are software like Adobe After Effects which you can find here and here is AUTODESK3DS MAX. It boils down to preference and what you are going to use it for.

Why are they using after effects for the toy story movie?

Hello Aubrielillian,

 

Adobe After Effects is used to edit video footages, it is designed to be used with video layering, making high demand effects, compositing and animation.

 

Its end result is a better quality effects. The makers of toy story movie might have chosen it since it is primarily used in creating motion graphics.

 

Moreover, since toy story had a 3D film they might also chosen to use After Effects since it can render 3D effects. One difference is its ability to integrate with other Adobe software's like Photoshop, Flash, Premiere Pro, giving the makers the flexibility to use one suite to do many things.

 

To agree with the previous comment it is also based on preference, as there are many other software's that can be used like Autodesk's Combustion, Sony Vegas Pro and open source like Blender.
