I have a Lenovo ThinkPad T410 and running on Windows 7 and I can’t log in using the fingerprint reader. And when I start my notebook and saying “Swipe your finger on green” shows up. When I swipe the finger nothing happens.
So I want to re-install it’s drivers and software maybe this will work.
Can anyone help on this? Thanks.
Where can I find ThinkVantage Fingerprint Drivers and Software for Lenovo T410
Hi,
I see that you are facing a problem with your fingerprint reader on your Lenovo ThinkPad. There may be many reasons for the failure. It can be because your fingerprint reader is damaged or just because the drivers are missing. Try the following steps:
1. Go to control panel and check whether the driver for fingerprint reader is working properly or not. If it is not working properly go to next step.
2. Go to http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS029766 and click on download drivers.
3. In the page that opens, select the driver for the fingerprint reader. Make sure you select the correct version of the driver that is compatible with your thinkpad.
4. Install the driver and restart your computer.
This should solve your problem.

You actually don’t need to reinstall all the drivers for your laptop since the problem is with the fingerprint reader only. To fix things easily, uninstall the fingerprint driver from your computer then download the latest from the Lenovo website. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it. Once installed, start Revo Uninstaller then select your fingerprint driver or software among the applications and click “Uninstall”.
Follow the normal uninstall process. When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, close Revo Uninstaller then go to Lenovo End of Life Product Resource page. Here, under “Device Drivers File Matrix”, in “Type”, select “Laptops & Tablets”.
In “Series”, select “ThinkPad T Series”. In “SubSeries”, select “ThinkPad T410”. Below it will display all the available drivers for your laptop. In “Category”, select “Fingerprint Reader” then select your version of Windows 7 in “Operating System”. Just download the driver and install it. See if this works.
