Where to acquire cheap self hosted newsletter software

We are currently using Mailchimp for our self-hosted online marketing and it’s a little bit expensive, so we want to try other self hosted newsletter package to assess if this will work the same without affecting our marketing campaign. At least we could try and see if this will affect our ROI, Willing to purchase, just need your recommendations.
