Interface-wise, the Nintendo WiiU boasts technology that is not found in current console players Sony Playstation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. One highly anticipated and innovative technology is the controller of the WiiU: it has its own LCD touch screen. With this fairly new concept, the possibilities for console gaming reached another milestone.

You can use that controller to keep track of your inventory when you are fighting on the TV, you can do different multi touch strokes on the screen to do specific commands like casting magic or drawing objects. You can also use the WiiU controller as a sight scope for rifle games; just point the controller on the TV and see other possibilities of that game.

Nintendo pushed the envelope yet again with the Wii U

About the MiiVerse, it is Nintendo’s vision to properly connect all WiiU players in one universe, or “MiiVerse” as Nintendo calls it. Nintendo tries to connect everyone together by creating an environment that is easily accessible, even while you are playing a game.

This ensures that no person playing is alienated and left alone, anyone can “jump in” in your interface and talk to you or help you if ever you are in need. But it is not limited to the console alone. Gamers that have the Nintendo 3DS or a smartphone with a web browser can also join, thus creating a big, 3d-environment social network.

Nintendo confirmed the news that they will release the Wii U on the holiday season of this year. This move is not surprising however, because the Wii U is a perfect gift for children and children-at-heart. No confirmed price has been released though, but rumors are circulating that it is priced at $600, which is a bit pricey for a game console. Let’s just hope it is an exaggerated rumor.
