What is the meaning of Proxy Server isn’t responding?

I have a Chrome Book. I bought it few days ago. It was working fine but I faced a problem today morning. When I'm using the internet and going through webpages , I get the error 'Proxy Server isn't responding' sometimes. What does it mean? What should I do in order to enjoy surfing without any glitches?

What is the meaning of Proxy Server isn’t responding?

If you are connecting through a proxy, try doing the following. Click on the network icon located on the lower right corner of your screen. The icon looks something like this:

Next, go to Settings and then search for the “Internet connection” section. For the majority of connections, ensure that “Allow proxies for shared networks” is checked under General section.

After that, click or select the network you are using then select “Network options” in the menu. On the next screen, select Proxy tab and then configure your proxy settings. On the other hand, if you are not using a proxy server and you just can’t connect to the internet, you probably want to visit Fix Internet Connection Issues.
