I have my new computer with windows 7. When It finds updates automatically, and I try to download it is stopping in the middle and giving me the error code 80244016 in windows update. When I try to check the updates manually, it is not showing anything. What can be the reason?
Try to update the windows by turning off the firewall and any other antivirus if you are using it. Sometimes this antivirus involves with windows and creates the errors. You can also try by resetting the windows update components. If there is any pending in the security update also, there will be this error. Try to scan our system and see if there is any malware attack. Check if all the security files of Microsoft virus solutions are in a properly installed state. If anything is missing, install them manually and try ones.
As the message says, “Windows Update is currently installing other updates”, which means Windows is still not yet finished installing the previous update and installing another new update is not possible. You have to finish the previous installation or previous update first before you can install another one. If you previously selected and downloaded an update, wait until Windows is finished installing that update.
Once the update is finished installing, restart your computer to make sure the system is refreshed. After booting, download the Windows Update you selected and install it. And the process or cycle continues. This is the right way of installing available Windows Updates. After an update is installed, even if it doesn’t prompt you to restart the computer, just restart your system as a precaution.
