What is Epub and How Do You Use This Software?

I have seen a handful of software recommended for writing a book for various audiences. Please give me an overview of what epub software is all about and how you can put this tool to good use to accomplish the difficult task of writing a book. Did you find epub very useful or it was a stiff learning slope for you? Would you recommend this software to someone or it is better to get an alternative?

EPUB is one of many digital publishing formats. It has the distinction of being one of the most popular formats worldwide. It is designed to be used on a wide variety of devices with no major difference in performance. Authoring EPUB content can be a very involved process given how universal it is meant to be. There are tools available which simplify this process for users without a certain knowledge base. Whether or not one chooses to author in EPUB is purely subjective.
