What is the best method of reducing lag when recording?

I have repeatedly tried to record PC gameplay but I keep on getting lag not only on the videos but on the games I play too. I have tried using different recorders like Camtasia Recorder, Dxtory and Bandicam but the results do not change that much. I am running Windows 8.1 on my Pc and it has a 4 GB RAM, AMD A8 CPU, Generic PnP graphics (1600×900@60Hz) and 698 GB in storage space left. What could be the issue? How can I solve it?

What is the best method of reducing lag when recording?

If you are trying to record a video of your game play but you experience lags on the game, check if you have enough resources to do both playing and screen recording. Since your screen resolution is set to 1600 x 900 pixels, try to lower it down. Setting the screen resolution to a higher setting can normally cause lag during game play because your computer needs to process small pixels which adds stress to your CPU.

Also check the amount of video RAM your graphics adapter has. If it only has the usual 64 MB video RAM you see on built-in video cards then that is very small to do screen recording while you are playing your game. In this case, you need to purchase a new video card with a much higher video RAM to support more graphics processing.
