I need to monitor my house right now while I am at work but do not have a security system installed. Can I save money and time by using my webcam on my laptop? Would it be  secure to leave it active for hours without having someone there to check on it?

Yes, you can achieve your goal using your webcam. However, this might not be the practical way to do it as webcams and your PC is not built to to cater such requirement.



Should you push through with your plan, you may experience the following issues:



1. Overheating of CPU



2. Decreasing capacity of storage



3. Narrower coverage of camera vision
