Hi guys,
I cant open laptop webcam. I don’t understand the main reason or problem why I can’t seem to open my dell laptop’s webcam. Is this has to do with the proper installation of the drivers? I am not the one who configure the tools of the software with this windows 7 operating system. I need some assistance.

Nothing to worry Markusa, Firstly you have to make sure that the necessary drivers have been installed for the laptop camera to work. On the desktop, Right click on Computer and goto properties, on Device Manager tab expand for imaging device and check whether there is yellow exclamation mark with the name of your camera or not. If so, then there is no proper driver installed. Use windows update to install the driver.
In addition to the driver you need some application to run the camera. Use Skype for testing.

Firstly you need to clarify the drivers are installed correctly as mentioned in the previous comment. Another way you can install the drivers apart from the above mentioned method is you can search it on Google with your full laptop name, series followed by webcam drivers. Surely it will give you many suggestions on Google but remember to choose the drivers provided by Dell company website.
  After installing the drivers you can install a web cam manager. Try to install the software available in below link.  It’s a bit large file but can recommend by seeing the ratings and the number of downloads.
If that is a built-in webcam on a Dell laptop, there is no way to make it work unless you install the driver. Since that is Dell, go to Dell Drivers & Downloads to get the driver. Here, enter your laptop’s serial number or model number then click to search. You can find it printed on a sticker either on the side or bottom of the machine.
Once you located your product, click it to go to the download page then click the driver download tab. The page should detect your operating system automatically. If the page shows a different operating system, click to change then select your correct operating system. After this, download and install all available drivers and software for your machine especially the webcam driver.
Normally, you should find more than one webcam driver. If you are not sure which to download, just download and install one and then try it. If it works then you don’t need to download the other camera drivers. But if the webcam doesn’t work, uninstall the webcam driver then download and install the other camera driver.
