Hi Virginia,

An X-ref is an 'external reference' to another AutoCAD drawing file. One file can reference many other files and display them as if they were one.

Mini CAD Viewer 3.0.1, VariCAD Viewer 2013 for Linux 1.03, VariCAD Viewer 2010 for Linux 3.02, and VariCAD Viewer 2011 for Linux 1.08 are downloadable via this page.

It cost nothing to download them.
