Using ios audioconverter aac for its screaming

Can ios audioconverter aac stream be replaced by any hardware encoder to make the AAC stream? Or I just need to use that to encode my video in x264? The problem is I would like to clean my hard drive because it got some slow and I need the audio converter which is smaller than the one which is ios audioconverter. Thank you!

This application is very popular and top-rated.  To use it, you need to input the audio/video files which you want to convert, then select the output folder and format, and, lastly, click on the “Convert” button.
