This error happens maybe because Winamp is not properly installed on your computer or maybe there are other problems in your system that is associated with the error.

If you installed it on a USB flash drive and not with your computer’s internal hard disk then maybe this could also be one of the reasons. I haven’t tried installing it yet on a USB flash drive since the first time I used it.

I think this program doesn’t support installing it on a USB flash drive because it creates registry entries in Windows.

To make sure that Winamp is properly installed on your system, try reinstalling it to have a fresh copy on your machine. Uninstall Winamp from your machine then check your computer for any possible errors.

Use a disk utility application to check the system. For a much thorough diagnostics on the system, use a disk utility application like PC Tools Performance Toolkit, or Norton SystemWorks.

Install the program again after this and then check it if this fixes it.

If it still fails to work, maybe your current version of Winamp doesn’t support Windows 7. Why not try upgrading it to the latest version.

Try downloading and installing Winamp 5.63 which supports Windows 7 and which is also one of its new features. To download Winamp 5.63, you may click Download Winamp Media Player 5.63.
