I need to download DirectX 9 driver for windows 7, just want to upgrade for better experience.
How do I find out if the video or audio driver installed is compatible with this upgrade?

Windows 7 already installed the upgraded version of directx.
But if you need to upgrade it by latest upgrades you can use the given link.
For more information about your directx version and audio video device configuration you can use the following steps
1. Windows key + R
2. Type dxdiag
3. If you are using first you have a dialog box click OK
4. You will now see the all info about directx installed & audio video devices on your system.

Operating system Windows 7 supports all DirectX versions (current version 11.1), therefore you do not need to download older DirectX drivers.
All games and applications that require DirectX 9.0 will work with Windows 7 perfectly.
If you want to check for yourself, click on Start and type dxdiag in the search field and select it. You will be presented with this window:
