Windows 7 Activation Issue after installing updates

Hi,

I have installed windows 7 on my computer .It worked so well .And I am happy with its performance compared to vista .But recently when I tried to install an update I have got a problem saying that the Activation failed. So that I have also checked the activation key it was correct. After that I tried to revert back but it was helpless.

What should I do to clear this activation problem to update?

Windows 7 Activation Issue after installing updates

Hi Jeffrey,

Have you tried installing updates before using Windows 7? If the problem says that your Activation failed, then the problem most likely comes from your Activation Key for Windows 7. You cannot install updates on your Windows if it is not yet authenticated / activated through the Internet.

You should try activating your product key before you install updates. You must be connected to the Internet to do this. If your activation fails then more likely you have an invalid product key.

You can also determine why your Windows cannot be activated based on the type of error showing. For example, error 0xC004F061 means that your product key is correct but it is not for your current version of Windows 7. It may be a product key for a previous or a latest version of your Windows version. Tanasis
