Uninstalling the Nero didn’t solve the problem.

After installing Nero on Windows 8 I am not able to mount any Virtual ISO's files –I will get this message even with super user – administrator etc.

Uninstalling the Nero didn’t solve the problem.

Anyone have any idea other than doing a Windows 8 image recovery which I don’t want to do..

I have looked for Mount permissions in Windows that gets Mount permissions from but can't find it — in Linux it's easy !!!.

Mounting virtual ISO's is one of the nice things about Windows 8 –if I can't use it I will give up.

OK Nero isn't the best software anymore but it works normally so I didn't expect this type of error.

Couldn't mount file

Couldn't Mount File

You don’t have permission to mount the file.

You need to check if you have the correct permission and then log on as the administrator and run the process again. But for some users who already encountered the same issue, they consider this error as a bug which you can simply ignore and then try to mount the iso file again. It will surely continue to mount regardless of the error that you are receiving.

I’m not sure if the problem there is with Nero because not all Nero products support mounting of disc images like ISO files. Check the features of your Nero product and verify that it supports mounting of ISO files and other disc image formats. Also, I think the problem there is with permissions as indicated by the message:

“You don’t have permission to mount the file.”

In this case, verify that you have administrative privileges or you are using an administrator account. If you are using a trial, check and verify that the trial period is not expired. If the trial period is over, either uninstall the program or buy the product or buy a license. Try also other Nero Trial Products.

Since your problem is with mounting ISO files, why not try downloading DAEMON Tools Lite. You can download and try the ad-supported free version.
