Unable to decode the video stream to preview the file

Hi there,

After I have finished to record my screen and I when I tried to preview the video this error appeared. Is not for the first time when I have this kind of error and sometimes the program is working ok. Any solution ? Why I can’t preview the video ?

Unable to decode the video stream to preview the file

You must be sure that the importing file is supported format by Camtasia Studio. If the imported file is MP4 then confirm that the file is encoded in the H.264. This is the right codec for MP4 file when you import it to Camtasia Studio. When you import the MOV file then it requires the latest version of QuickTime Software and you have to reboot your system for that to take effect. 

If you import the AVI file then be sure you have installed the codec for AVI for example it requires the XVID codec to play AVI file so install that on your system.
