My Dear friends,

I am receiving this particular error while connecting to my VPN Server. If anyone knows how to solve this error, please do reply When I click the redial button, it retries to connect to the VPN Server but after 30 seconds it again displays the same error.

Error Connecting

Error 800: Unable to establish VPN connection.

The VPN server may be unreachable, or security parameters may not be configured properly for this connection.

I don’t understand how this error can be removed or resolved.

It says that a security parameter might not be configured. Now what is this security parameter?

If you know how to configure this security parameter, then please reply to this question as I am in a hurry to get this issue resolved.

Common error that we usually encounter, when working with VPN is error 800, "Unable to establish the VPN connection."

This particular error doesn’t say anything, why you have failed to connect VPN server. I suggest you to do the following if you are encountering this error:

Is your VPN server name correct? Ask the server administrator to provide you the correct VPN server name, if this happens.

Is your internet connection/network connection to the server working properly? Check your connection if not sure, by doing PING.

Network firewall blocks VPN connection. You should check your firewall settings as well. Port 1723 must be opened and protocol 47 must be set to enable, in your configuration settings.

The server has too many clients connected or it exceeds the limit of the server.

Here are some suggestions that may help you.

For outgoing VPN, make sure the presence of rules, for allowing the outflow of VPN connection.

And for more information, SBS server has only limitation of 5 site to site connections to out go. 

Here is the site, where you have connections for outgoing PTP connection.

For incoming VPN, as manifested by the said error you receive, kindly check and ensure that port 1732, is accessible for the clients and able to run netstat – ano/find 1732.
