Trying to launch the remote control with TightVNC

Hi,

I am trying to launch the remote control with TightVNC. When I attempt to do this I get the following error message which is very irritating. I can't take the control of the remote host. What can I do? Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Trying to launch the remote control with TightVNC

Hello James,

Please try the following solutions –

1. Start with checking whether remote VNC and the local VNC (TightVNC) are at the same version. This is important, in case if you notice version mismatch then you may have to change either one of them, possibly your local one which is compatible with the remote VNC.
2. Ensure remote VNC host is actually running on the port on which TightVNC is trying to connect to. It could be possible that another application on the remote machine is using the port, in that case you may have to change the port of either of the application.
3. Make sure no firewalls are not blocking connections between the remote VNC and TightVNC. You may have to add exceptions on the firewalls to allow the communication to happen.
