Toshiba Encore Touch having touch screen problems

My touch screen keeps on freezing and sometimes the cursor just makes random movements. I am running windows 8.1 and my pc memory is okay. Could this be a virus? If it is, how can I restore my factory settings on this device? Is there any other way of solving this without having to install another version of OS? If there is, please share. Thanks.

Toshiba Encore Touch having touch screen problems

Hello,

This problem has been known to happen with Windows updates.  I would recommend a System Restore.  You can do that 2 ways.  The first way requires you to connect your Encore to a mouse and keyboard.  Once you have done that go to Control Panel then System.  Choose System Protection and then select System Restore. 

If you do not have a mouse and keyboard-Push the power button, Shift + Restart then Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > System Restore.
