Hi! I nick and I’ll provide you the best possible solution on how to share VMware workstation VMs within PC with steps-
Step(i) Select your VM in the Workstation UI > right click > Manage > Share.
Step(ii) If your VM has snapshot or you enabled template mode, you’ll get an image like this
If your VM is not configured as a template VM, you do have the choice.
Step(iii) The shared location can be changed only if no shared VMs are configured. You can do it through menu Edit > Preferences > Shared VMs.
Step(iv) Click Shared VMs > Roles. Now, there can be two use cases depending if your PC is part of a domain or not. Click Ok to validate.
Step(v) Click the shared VMs > Permissions > to configure permissions.
Step(vi) Click Add > Click the drop-down box to select the domain (or not), and pick the user.
This type of screen will show up and to access those shared VMs you can use Workstation, Player, Fusion… or Player Plus.
