Is there anyone out there who is an expert on cloud hosting?

Is there anyone out there who is an expert on cloud hosting?  I really would like to know more about it, although I would maybe need someone who could simplify it for me.  Also, I am curious whether Windows is better than Linux in terms of main operating system when you run a virtual server.

Your opinion would be highly appreciated.

Hello Iodic,

Cloud Hosting is making noise around these days. Google is naturally the promoter of the idea of cloud hosting/computing. You might not noticing but you are already a part of it by using Google search and other Google operations.

In general, cloud hosting is a cloud-hosted website that operates multiple connected servers. Instead of limited in a single server like what we have experienced before hosting services or dedicated/shared hosting,  the website has now an access into multiple or a lot of servers.The processing power is unlimited but you can always add a new server and scale up.

On the other hand, I suggest that you use Linux instead of windows in terms of running virtual server because Linux is really compatible with cloud computing. In short, they complement each other. I hope this might enlighten you.

When you are going to increase your website scope as well as scale without upgrading the hardware, this technology is called Cloud Hosting.

With this technology we share the bandwidth, RAM, CPU [all hardware resources] which remain unusable during any other process, and use these vacant hardware resources to server a website.

Many servers grouped each other and support/work for a single task even for many tasks in most of the cases.

Hardware resources increase the capacity without upgrading the hardware, and eliminate the chances of failure because multiple servers worked for a single or multiple tasks.

Keeping in view it gives us more processors to done a task efficiently and effectively.

Cloud hosting is easy and cheaper i.e. VPS.NET is a great example of a reliable cloud hosting.

Advantages of cloud hosting:
Website services growth flexibility
Website response become guaranteed [just because of multiple machines]
Data redundancy minimized
Chances of failure due to single point become zero
Complete usage of resources [hardware, software and power]
