I need to trace the source of an email I received. Can someone tell me how to track an IP address from an email so that I can find the IP address of the source ? I am using Gmail service.
You should do the following:
1. Find the header details a. Click on the email you want to track b. Next to the reply option, there will be a down arrow. Click it. c. Select the option saying "Show Original" which will show you the complete header details in a new window.
2. Copy the header details and paste them in the white box at the end of the page on the following link: https://whatismyipaddress.com/trace-email
3. Click the get source button on this page.
The source will be displayed.
