Hi all,

I need to know the maximum number of frames that I could transmit at a time should I use a 3-bit sequence in the Selective-Reject ARQ. I hope you can help me. Thank you.

Hallo Jessy,

In the data link control concept, in case there will be a 3 bit sequence that is used,  then it means the number has the capability to distinguish among 8 frames that are not of the same type.

Since the case is whereby the number of frames that could be transmitted at the same time are less compared to the number of frames that could be found out by the sequence number provided, there will not more than four frames to be transmitted at the same time.

Hi Jessy

If you use a 3 bit sequence then it mean that the number is  capable to distinguish among 8 frames that are not of the same type.Since the case is whereby the number of frames that could be transmitted at the same time are less compared to the number of frames that could be found out by the sequence number provided, there will be not more than four frames to be transmitted at  a time. With this concept it means you can only transmit 8 flames at a time with 3 bits sequence.
