I think Windows 8 in my laptop has become obsolete, so I would like to opt Windows 8.1. How do I update to Windows 8.1 Pro?  Are there easier steps to do so?

There is a free update for Windows 8 users to Windows 8.1. Try these steps on your computer:

  1. Plug in your PC and make sure it I connected to the Internet. Do not lose any of this connection during installation.
  2. Go to settings option and then to Change PC settings. Tap on the Windows Update after tapping on Update and Recovery.
  3. Tap Check now and click on View details for Updates. Install the updates for Windows 8.1.
  4. Restart your PC after the installation is complete.
