What are the steps I must consider to submit site in directory so that it can not be rejected by the open directory auditors.

Steps to submit site in directory.

Before you go for submitting your site, make sure that your site is considerably appropriate to be included in the open directory. 

site, it gets included in the directory automatically as some of the domain holders are linked to the open directory. So better search the directory to check if your site is listed or not.

After checking, initialize the work by choosing the category of your website. Don't get carried away by some famous categories as your website might get rejected if you choose the wrong category.

Now, check in for the selected category at dmoz.org and enter a URL. The latter part is pretty easy as it is informative.
