I don’t remember how many time I had this problem so far. It’s an installation source error. As you installer did not manage to find the directory or read the directory, you are facing a such problem. You need to ensure the following matter to run a successful installation.

1. Make sure your source directory is readable or active. (Connection of CD/DVD Rom, Hard Drive or USB Key)

2. Try to install the software from a downloaded source if you have any problem with CD/DVD Rom.

3. Deactivate your installed Antivirus before installation is about to start.

Hope this will work for you.

The problem with that installation is with a particular cabinet file called “Data1.cab”. In this case, check how you are installing the application. If you are running the installer from a network drive, the problem might be caused by a network failure or permission in the folder where the installer is located.

If you are installing from a network drive or the installer is located on another computer over the network, you need to copy the entire installer to your local hard drive. Create a new folder on your hard drive and copy the entire installer to this folder. Once the installer is copied, run the installation from your local hard drive.

On the other hand, if you are installing using a CD or DVD, it could be a problem with the optical drive or the disc. To see if the problem is with the optical drive, try cleaning the lens of the drive. You can use the lens cleaner of your DVD player or you can buy one from a local computer store.

If this doesn’t work, try cleaning the disc itself by washing your CD or DVD with a solution of water and baby shampoo. After washing, wipe it dry with a lint-free cloth. If this doesn’t work, try inserting the disc on a different computer with a working optical drive then see if it works there.

If it works there, try cleaning the lens of your optical drive with one of the following. Try checking out the following optical lens cleaner on eBay:

  • DVD CD Players Laser Lens Cleaner – this lens cleaner costs $4.55 and available for free shipping. See details for shipping worldwide. Item is located in China.
  • DVD & CD Laser Lens Cleaner – this one costs $8.82 and ships worldwide. Seller doesn’t offer free shipping. Item is located in the United States.
  • DVD Lens Cleaner – the price of this one is a bit higher than the first two, costs $14.99. Seller doesn’t offer free shipping and ships to select countries only. Item is located in the United States.

If the problem continues, try purchasing the latest version. Go to SpeechExec Pro. It supports Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 (64-bit only) Professional or Enterprise edition both 32-bit and 64-bit. It requires 1 GHz or faster processor, 2 GB RAM for 32-bit and 4 GB for 64-bit, 100 MB free space.
