Skype access violation error at address 00AAA892

Hi all,

I have recently installed Skype on my pc and it was installed successfully. When I clicked on the Skype icon to connect it, the loading started but then it resulted in an error on the screen. The screenshot of the error is attached below:

 

Skype

 

Access violation at address 00AAA892 in module 'Skype.exe'. Read of address 00000000.

 

                                           OK

Can anyone please tell me what steps should I take to get rid of this access violation error?

Skype access violation error at address 00AAA892

Hello,

I too have faced the same problem. After trying to solve the issue in several ways I came to know that reinstallation is the only way. I mean, you have to download a fresh copy of the Skype software, uninstall the previous one and install the new version. This will solve the problem. Make sure that you login immediately after installing Skype.

Skype access violation error at address 00AAA892

Hi Dennis Azal,

First, you have to make sure that you are installing the latest version of Skype. If the error still persists, you can try reinstalling.
If the error is still there, go to this link:

• https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/886549/you-receive-an-error-1606-error-message-when-you-try-to-install-or-rem

When you’re already on that page, click Fix It Button. After that, restart your computer and reinstall Skype once again.
