Selecting option for wireless tethering

What is the best way for wireless tethering? Does VZW allow tethering with a shared data plan like ATT does? Please give me advice to select upon the best way available. Thanks.

The are several wireless tethering app available.
The features of the app are as mentioned below:
1) It offers wireless tethering through Bluetooth to Windows or Mac OS
2) It displays data usage time in the real time
3) It does not require the device rooting for the tethering
4) It includes the attempts to hide the tethering from the device to avoid trouble
5) The software is free to download for the user

B) Barnacle WiFi Tether
1) It provides a way to turn a phone in a WiFi hotspot
2) Download the software from the Barnacle official website
3) It is free app and it uses the WEP encryption for the process to be executed
4) The user needs to root to the device where the tethering is to be applied
