Hi there, the main concept is that when are scanning an image in black and white it will be formatted as “black and white” format, this  means other colors like “red” cannot be used until it is changed into a different format like “RGB”. It’s solution is so simple that you can’t imagine. To solve it just click on to the image (it’s located in the lop menu) then select mode from the dropdown menu. The select “RGB” or you can also select “CMYK” mostly close. Now you can edit as you like. Another problem can be happen if you have more then 1 layer so select the layer by move tool what you are trying to edit.

Hi Shopon,

It will be a bit tricky to get the best colored image quality of your current black and white image, but yes, it is possible to get a colored image of your black and white image that you just scanned. Some of the best programs you can use in editing the image to get a colored quality include adobe Photoshop cs5, adobe fireworks cs5. You can also use ms office picture manager, quick time.

You can also choose to scan the image in a color format to save you the trouble of editing the image which will require some expertise mixing the colors and all to bring out the best.

Hope this helps.
